Description

Kirtland Air Force Base is a long-standing base that is home to Air Force service men, and the location of two major Military research facilities. In its many years in the Southwest, it has ties to some of the most important military advances in history, including the design of the first nuclear bombs used in Japan during WWII.

New Mexico Millwright was contracted by Kirtland Air Force Base to assemble and install lasers, telescopes, and fixed shutter domes requiring critical alignment for the Starfire Optical Range.
